Overview

This workshop is designed to enhance the understanding of the participants of the entire creative problem solving process, as well as equipping them with the key problem solving tools necessary for the business as usual and the day-to-day needs.

 

Objective

An overview of the definition of a problem and problem solving is a must, afterwards comes a few steps. First, teach the participants how to identify and clarify issues that need to be resolved. Second, comes understanding how to set priorities and determine appropriate steps to deal with issues. Third, is learning how to find the root cause of a problem and identifying which is the best solution and the most effective and efficient. Fourth, offering ways to exercise sound judgment when evaluating and resolving problems. Fifth, identify how to set goals with a clear purpose and a suitable scope for a decision. Sixth, developing a set of criteria for evaluation of solution options and assessment of risk. Seventh, improving the confidence level in leading assignments and tasks, and in decision-making

Outline

  1. Understanding problems and the creative problem solving process.
  2. Identify types of gathering information techniques and how to use key questions in problem solving.
  3. Identifying the importance of defining a problem correctly.
  4. Identifying and using different problem tools.
  5. Writing concrete problem statement.
  6. Using basic brainstorming tools to generate ideas for solutions
  7. Using ideas generating tools such as word chaining, the box method, the six thinking hats and the blink method.
  8. Evaluating potential solutions against criteria including cost/benefit analysis and group voting.
